Frequently Asked Questions

What do you play?

I play a wide variety of music geared to your tastes and the makeup of your guests.  Prior to your event, we will discuss the type of experience you're looking for and make sure the music selections will meet your expectations.

What styles of music can we expect?

I typically play a full mix of music designed to appeal to all of your guests, old and young.  You'll hear hits, songs that are well known.  It's not my job to educate anyone on new music like we did in nightclubs.  My job is to keep people dancing to songs they know.  You'll hear a full mix from today's hits back to hits from all decades.  Genres from old and new Top 40 Dance , Rock, classic party tunes, Motown, a little country and a little rap will be included.  If there's anything you don't want to hear, we'll bring that out in our initial discussion to ensure those songs are not played.  (I do not specialize in full Country or full Hip Hop events.  If this is what you're looking for, I can certainly recommend someone that will suite your needs quite nicely)

How many songs do you have?

I have thousands of songs in my playlists on my laptops.  But in reality, I have access to wi-fi during each event so should a song be needed that I don't currently have, I can download it quickly and have it playing within minutes.  So, to sum up, I have the ability to play any song ever recorded.

What is your service area?

I am based in the west end of Richmond VA and will travel east to Virginia Beach, north to Northern Virginia, west to Charlottesville and to southside Virginia.  I can travel further depending on the arrangements.  Contact me for more information.

What are your pricing ranges?

I'm not the cheapest but I'm also not the most expensive either.  Depending on the location and duration of your event, I have plans that can easily start around $600.  Call me to discuss your specific requirements.

What sound equipment do you use?

I use professional sound equipment specifically created for mobile disc jockeys.  I travel with 2 Lenovo laptops using Serato DJ software, Pioneer mixing decks, QSC speakers with up to 4000 watts of clean audio, and Shure wired and wireless microphones.

What lighting do you offer?

I use Chauvet lighting and offer packages that feature LED Derby fixtures, LED multi-color pars, high power LED strobes and lasers.  Some packages also include multiple, multi-color up-lighting fixtures that are placed around the facility as accent lighting.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept payment via Zelle (preferred), Venmo, checks, and of course, cash.

Are you certified?

This is my favorite question.  There is no reputable board that certifies wedding DJ's.  There's one that tries to proclaim that they are the definitive source for "board certified" DJ's, but in reality all they do is charge the DJ a fee for a seal (and they don't have many members).  Don't be fooled.  There's no such thing as "board certification" for DJ's.
